Blocks is the first modular smartwatch. In this news, Blocks announced a partnership with Intel for the development of a modular smartwatch using the new Intel Edison platform.
Edison is a true Pc with the size of a postage stamp, is Intel’s answer to the famous Arduino developer platform. Edison Uses a 22 nm Intel SoC that includes a dual core, dual threaded Intel Atom CPU at 500 MHz, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory, Wifi and Bluetooth low energy. The collaboration with blocks allow to the developers to create their own blocks in record time. Intel will invest $ 50,000 in blocks and provide them the latest cutting-edge technology.
Block has also unveiled its store dedicated to the purchase of the modules: the blockstore. Great importance will be given to the development of the community through their new blog (blog.chooseblocks.com). Modularmania follows the development of this project since its debut, we hope it arrive on the market soon, maybe simultaneously with Project Ara.
