The new FAQ section on the Project Ara official website reveals some alarming news. Project Ara is not an official Android product, it isn’t a Nexus phone and an official Google product. The program is still a development effort, the project doesn’t have a market launch date and an official price. However, the team is working towards a limited market pilot in 2015. In the next year, some prototypes will arrive in the hands of a small number of developers, including the 100 winners of the Ara Dscout Program. The Project Ara team officially denied the rumors about the launch price. The final cost of Project Ara will depend to the module developers. They will set the prices for their modules sold in the Ara Module Marketplace. The cost of the components of the entry-level Ara device will be in the $50-100 range.
