MODR is a modular mobile device case that allows users to customize their smartphones and tablets with new features and new expansion options. MODR Inc. has developed an interesting concept and now the company is trying to raise funds to develop the project.
For the moment, this case only supports smartphones produced by Samsung (Galaxy S4, S5, S6) and Apple (iPhone 6 and 6+). New smartphones and tablets could be supported in the future.
MODR allows to add several types of modules. The first are called “reModules”. The company has developed a Micro SD reader, a LED flashlight, a camera flash assist and a customizable NFC button. This case can host 2 reModules simultaneously. They will work on all versions of MODR, so you can keep them for your next smart device and share them between your smartphone and tablet.
This case can also host larger modules through the single “X-Port” , for example a battery pack. The company has also designed a Pico projector module, a Bluetooth-powered speakers and a solar battery pack.
MODR also support new types of lens for your smartphone. Macro, wide angle, zoom and fisheye lenses can be quickly attached and removed via a strong magnet, with no power or software required.
This modular case supports the wireless charging (Qi-compatible) to charge your device simply by placing it down on the MODR Charge Mat and it is equipped with an USB-Hub and a useful kickstand.
You can order MODR on Indiegogo and it is available in various configurations with prices starting from $ 59.
